After retiring from the US Navy in 1984, where I had spent most of my 20 years as a jet engine mechanic, I decided I wanted to start my own business. After doing some extensive research I decided on "Saw and Tool Sharpening." After graduating from the Foley-Belsaw Institute in Kansas City, Missouri in 1990, I bought my first sharpening tool and was on my way.
It wasn't long before my sharpening customers began to ask if I could tune up their lawnmowers and chain saws. Even with my Naval background I decided it would be best to "update" my skills. After completing a course through Southern Maine Technical College, I started accepting machines for tunes-ups and minor repairs. It wasn't long before I realized more manufacturer specific training was involved, so it was off to more schools.
I hold a "Master Service Technician" certification for Briggs and Stratton, and I am fully authorized to service the following equipment:

I carry many replacement parts, but any part can be ordered. I also use Oregon replacement mower blades, belts and parts. I carry Oregon & Windsor saw chain, Sandvik brush blades and replacement string trimmer line and spools for Ryobi, Homelite and Poulan equipment.
